Chorister Auditions
Saturday, 27th February 2010 at 10:00 AM
Do you think your son or daughter could be a cathedral chorister?
We will be holding auditions for boys and girls who are currently in Year 2 & Year 3 at school.
Choristers receive substantial bursaries towards their education at The Minster School (these range, on a means-tested basis, between 60% - 100% of school fees) and the musical education that life as a cathedral chorister offers. In addition to singing in the cathedral on a daily basis, choristers make recordings and take part in concerts, TV and radio broadcasts and tours both in the UK and abroad. The school offers the opportunity to study a wide range of musical instruments in addition to training as a singer and our choristers go on to some of the top schools, both locally and further afield. Some go on to become professional musicians but most would say that the early training and self-discipline that they gained as a chorister has been of enormous benefit in whatever walk of life they subsequently follow.
If you would like further information on how to become a chorister, please contact the school office in the first instance and we will be happy to guide you through the process.
